[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] On the afternoon of the 29th, Lee Jung-ok, Minister of Gender Equality and Family, visited the family-exclusive counseling hotline located in Mapo-gu, Seoul, to listen to the counselors' difficulties and field opinions.

The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family operates the family counseling hotline and Danuri Call Center in collaboration with the Korea Healthy Family Promotion Agency to provide counseling on various family issues. The family counseling hotline supports consultations on pregnancy and childbirth conflicts, child support counseling, single-parent counseling, and since May of this year, has also established 'psychological and emotional counseling' to address family conflicts arising from the prolonged impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

On this visit, the Ministry plans to actively reflect counselors' opinions in its projects and promote policies to enhance expertise and improve service quality. Minister Lee stated, "We will strive to prevent counselor burnout and strengthen their expertise so that the family counseling hotline, which operates 365 days without interruption, can be a great support to families around us who are exhausted and struggling."
