Beanpole Launches Global Specialized Line '890311'

[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Beenzino, the traditional casual brand of Samsung C&T Fashion Division, announced on the 29th that it has launched the fall/winter products of the global specialized line ‘890311,’ which focuses on street and workwear based on a retro sensibility.


890311 is a line inspired by March 11, 1989, the launch date, commemorating Beenzino’s 30th anniversary. While solidifying the brand identity, it inherits ‘Korean street culture’ with the purpose of continuing the unique Korean spirit.


This season, the Korean street mood was emphasized through three concepts: ‘Retro Baseball,’ ‘Street Ethnic,’ and ‘Sporty Workwear.’

The Retro Baseball products incorporate the 890311 logo and the graphic design of the Korean representative flower, the oyat flower (the pure Korean word for plum blossom), to embody a baseball mood.


Representative products include a logo appliqu? wool coach jacket, a baseball leather shirt made with oyat flower embroidered patches and luxurious punched embossed lamb leather, raglan baseball T-shirts, white jersey pants with a baseball mood, and dresses that give the layered impression of T-shirts and skirts.


The Street Ethnic products reinterpret three trendy bandana patterns and Indian motif checks into 890311’s unique street mood.


The collection consists of vintage retro mood jumpers and pants printed with bandana patterns, oversized long outerwear, Indian check shirts layered with dot pattern V-neck panels, Indian check mix corduroy shirts, and knit pullovers mixed with bandana patterns.


The Sporty Workwear products mix sports mood and workwear, featuring an impressive oversized silhouette that reveals the colorful identity of 890311.


Fall season products include rugby-style border print T-shirts and Sevenbike pique, which reinterprets Beenzino Heritage pique T-shirts. Colorful wool check pattern outerwear and items that vary fleece are representative winter season items.


Namyoung Park, General Manager (Executive Director) of Beenzino Business Division, said, “We proposed the 890311 line reflecting the brand identity of Korean classic in three concepts to provide diverse choices for millennial and Gen Z customers. We will expand communication with the younger generation through online and mobile channels and accelerate the development of the global market.”


Meanwhile, Beenzino recently showcased the 890311 line products at the renewed Beenzino store in Times Square, Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, and also sells them on SSF Shop, the integrated online mall of Samsung C&T Fashion Division, aiming to communicate with the MZ generation.
