[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] CU has once again joined hands with Baek Jong-won, CEO of The Born Korea, through a broadcast.
On the 29th, CU announced that it will support the production of the Chuseok special broadcast of the interactive cooking show "Baek Father," titled "Convenience Store Dinner Show." Baek Father is a cooking entertainment program that introduces Baek's special recipes live to cooking beginners.
In an early October broadcast, Baek Father announced a special episode related to "My Own Convenience Store Honey Combination Recipe" in preparation for difficulties in live broadcasting due to the resurgence of COVID-19, and invited viewers to submit their hidden convenience store recipes.
The selected recipes will be featured in the "Convenience Store Dinner Show" special episode of Baek Father during the Chuseok holiday on October 3rd. Among viewers who leave real-time comments during the broadcast, 100 people will be selected to receive a CU comprehensive gift set as a prize.
Meanwhile, the relationship between CU and CEO Baek began in 2015 with the development of lunch boxes. So far, CU and Baek have created over 100 types of convenience foods such as lunch boxes, rice balls, and gimbap, with cumulative sales exceeding 200 million units as of last year.
Starting this year, they have introduced the Baek Jong-won's Cooking Secrets convenience food series, which implements various recipes featured on Baek's YouTube channel into convenience store menus.
The packaging of these products includes QR codes linking to related recipe videos, and the back label of the lunch boxes contains Baek's secret recipes that anyone can easily follow, which became a hot topic online under the title "The Secret of Baek Jong-won's Lunch Box."
