Vegan Beauty Products Up 43% Year-on-Year as of September
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Lotte's health and beauty store (H&B) store LOB's announced on the 29th that it is expanding its vegan beauty market.
Recently, consumers, especially the MZ generation who value animal protection as well as 필(environmental necessity), and ethical consumption, are increasingly checking whether animal testing or animal-derived ingredients are used.
Reflecting the demand, the number of products has also increased. As of September, the number of vegan brand products at LOB's increased by 43% compared to the previous year. In the vegan beauty market, which is concentrated on basic cosmetics such as 'Berry Some' and 'Catrice,' there are also rare color cosmetics products.
From next month, LOB's will hold an event every month introducing vegan products from various categories and selling them at up to 50% discount. During October, the 'Barulab Black Clay Mask' will be sold at a 35% discount for 3,900 won, the 'Bonajour Green Tea Water Balm Toner' at a 50% discount for 12,000 won, the 'Berry Some Real Me Eye Palette' at a 20% discount for 14,400 won, and the 'Catrice HD Foundation' at a 19% discount for 11,000 won.
Lee Jin-ah, head of LOB's product team, said, "As clean beauty has emerged as a trend, inquiries about vegan products have recently increased," and added, "We plan to continue introducing various brands that pursue ethical values and cosmetics with good ingredients."
Detailed information about this event can be found on the Lotte ON application and the official online mall.
