LG Electronics to Launch 12kg Capacity ‘LG Tromm Washing Machine ThinQ’ Sales Next Week

LG Electronics will launch the AI-powered DD (Direct Drive) washing machine, 'LG Tromm Washing Machine ThinQ,' which provides the optimal washing method, next week. Models are showcasing the 12kg capacity LG Tromm Washing Machine ThinQ (model name: F12WVC).

[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] LG Electronics announced on the 29th that it will launch the AI DD (Direct Drive) washing machine 'LG Tromm Washing Machine ThinQ,' which provides the optimal washing method, next week.

The new product (model name: F12VV) has a capacity of 12kg and features differentiated functions unique to the AI DD washing machine. This product, when installed vertically with the 9kg capacity Tromm Dryer ThinQ released by LG Electronics last July, offers high space utilization.

In fact, when a 10kg capacity Tromm washing machine and a 9kg capacity Tromm Dryer ThinQ are installed, the total height is the same. In other words, the space occupied by the product is similar, but it allows washing a larger amount of laundry.

LG Electronics applied tempered glass to the front door of this product. It is more resistant to everyday scratches and easier to clean than the existing plastic material. The previously released 9kg capacity LG Tromm Dryer ThinQ also adopted a door design made of tempered glass, creating a harmonious interior when both products are used together.

To enhance hygiene, LG Electronics changed the material of the lifter, which lifts clothes inside the washing drum, from plastic to stainless steel.

LG Electronics equipped the new product with various convenience features of the AI DD washing machine. After detecting the weight of the clothes, if it can identify the fabric type using big data, it selects the optimal motion among LG Electronics' unique 6-motion washing methods.

For example, for delicate fabrics, it chooses motions such as shaking and kneading to protect the clothes during washing. According to tests conducted by the global certification body Intertek, the new product protects clothes more than 10% better compared to the existing LG Tromm washing machine (model name: F10SR).

Customers can use convenient features by connecting the new product to the LG ThinQ home appliance management application via Wi-Fi. For instance, when linked with the previously released 9kg capacity LG Tromm Dryer ThinQ, the smart pairing function allows the washing machine to send washing course information to the dryer, which then automatically sets the drying course.

This product can be used as a TwinWash by combining a mini wash tub washing machine at the bottom, enabling simultaneous and separate washing, which is convenient. When installed vertically with the dryer, inserting a drawer-type stacking kit between the washing machine and dryer allows easy transfer of dried laundry.

LG Electronics explained that positive reviews from customers who experienced the convenience of the AI DD washing machine continue, and considering the trend of increasing single-person households, they have expanded the product lineup to include compact-sized washing machines.

The shipment price of the new product ranges from 1,000,000 to 1,100,000 KRW depending on the color. Ryu Jae-cheol, head of the Living Appliance Division at LG Electronics H&A Business Division, said, "We will lead the domestic washing machine market with AI DD washing machines that offer differentiated convenience from large capacity to compact sizes."
