Residents Themselves Identify and Solve Local Issues... Recruiting 8 Teams Until October 5... Support for Agenda Club Operation, Research Activities, Education, and Mentors Provided
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Chae Hyun-il) is recruiting the ‘Yeongdeungpo Resident Agenda Club,’ a research group for agenda setting aimed at solving community issues by gathering residents' opinions.
The district planned the Resident Agenda Club with the purpose of not only proposing local agendas but also providing residents with opportunities to independently seek solutions to the derived agendas, in order to activate resident-led public-private cooperation.
Club activities will mostly be conducted online with small team activities to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Main activities include sharing community issues through workshop mentoring, guidance and education on problem definition methods, and support for team-based study activities to find solutions.
The application period is from September 22 to October 5, and applications can be submitted by accessing the web page address listed on the district’s homepage or promotional posters.
Any team of three or more Yeongdeungpo-gu residents, business owners, or workers interested in local issues can participate.
The final selection results will be posted on the district homepage on October 8 and individual notifications will be sent to the selected teams.
The selected Resident Agenda Clubs will be operated as public-private cooperation clubs in the future through learning to research local issues and find solutions, and will receive benefits as cooperative partners for agenda research activities and solving community problems.
Chae Hyun-il, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, “The Yeongdeungpo Resident Agenda Club will greatly contribute to district policies as residents discover and solve local issues on their own,” and added, “We will strive to spread a mature culture of cooperation where residents become the main agents in district administration through the Resident Agenda Club.”
