Yongin City Wins 'Korea SNS Award' for Two Consecutive Years

[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province has won the Korea SNS Award for two consecutive years.

Yongin City announced on the 29th that it received the Grand Prize in the Basic Local Government category at the recently held '10th Korea SNS Awards' for the second consecutive year.

The Korea SNS Awards is an award given by the Korea Social Content Promotion Association that evaluates the use of SNS by public institutions and companies.

Yongin City earned high scores in quantitative evaluations using social media influence indices, expert evaluations, and user evaluations, winning the grand prize.

The city provides various content through diverse SNS channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Naver Blog, YouTube, and Kakao Plus Friends to actively communicate with citizens.

In particular, this year, the city quickly posted COVID-19 response measures, confirmed case occurrences, and status information on blogs and SNS to help citizens respond to COVID-19.

Additionally, it produced planned series such as 'Wise Home Life Practicing Social Distancing' and 'Ontact Cultural Life,' which were praised for providing information that citizens wanted.

Furthermore, the city sent out 'Yongin City Palm News,' which provides major city administration news and lifestyle information, 2 to 3 times a month, allowing citizens to easily access city news, thus recognizing the city's value as a useful communication tool.

Baek Gun-gi, Mayor of Yongin City, emphasized, "The importance of SNS channels is increasing in the non-face-to-face era," adding, "We will provide useful information to citizens and communicate sincerely through SNS channels."
