Dobong-gu Complex Cultural Space 'Gachi' Opens Lee Dong-jin, Mayor of Dobong-gu (right), is giving a congratulatory interview for the Value Online Opening Ceremony on the 17th.

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) is opening a complex cultural space called ‘Gachi’ for Dobong-gu residents in Ssangmun-dong. To commemorate this, an online opening ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. on the 29th.

The opening ceremony, planned to celebrate the birth of this new cultural facility with artists from the Ssangmun area and to promote local cultural arts and create a cultural alley, will be held as a non-face-to-face online event due to COVID-19 and social distancing measures.

The opening ceremony video will be broadcast at 3 p.m. on the 29th through the Dobong Culture and Arts Support Center’s YouTube channel. The program will proceed in the order of congratulatory performances by Ssangmun area artists, screening of the space introduction video, congratulatory messages, and resident interviews.

The cultural space ‘Gachi’ is a specialized performance hall themed around ‘youth,’ equipped with high-quality sound equipment, a movable art wall, and individual lighting, and will showcase various performances and exhibitions in the future.

It will also operate as a space for cultural arts education programs and communication with residents.

Mayor Dongjin Lee of Dobong-gu said, “I hope that ‘Gachi,’ created for the cultural and artistic activities of Dobong residents, will establish itself as a space that is ‘together (Gachi)’ with residents and ‘valuable’ as the name’s double meaning suggests, and that the west side space of Ssangmun Station will become a cultural alley that coexists with the community.”
