Jinan-gun Holds Special COVID-19 Prevention Measures Meeting for Chuseok

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Tae-in] Jinan County held a special COVID-19 prevention measures meeting during the Chuseok holiday period on the 28th at the county office situation room, presided over by Jeon Chun-seong, Jinan County Governor, with department heads and town and township chiefs in attendance.

At the meeting, Governor Jeon emphasized that this Chuseok holiday is a critical time to determine whether COVID-19 will re-spread locally. He discussed comprehensive prevention measures including major facility disinfection before Chuseok and instructed the preparation of a ‘public promotion plan’ to minimize resident movement during the holiday, enforce social distancing, and ensure compliance with personal quarantine rules.

Accordingly, from the 30th to the 4th of next month, the county will organize an emergency duty team to operate the comprehensive situation room 24 hours a day during the holiday and establish a cooperative system with related organizations such as the police station, fire station, and hospitals and clinics.

Additionally, to prevent COVID-19, screening clinics will be operated first, and a special disinfection week will be held at places with high foot traffic such as terminals and traditional markets. Furthermore, a joint inspection team for medium- and high-risk multi-use facilities will be formed to check compliance with social distancing and quarantine rules. Disinfection management personnel will be assigned to major tourist sites to oversee disinfection at tourist spots and guide tourists in following daily quarantine rules.

Jeon Chun-seong, Jinan County Governor, stated, “With the nationwide spread of COVID-19 continuing, we will prioritize prevention and safety during the Chuseok holiday period to ensure no inconvenience to residents.” He added, “For the safety of your family and neighbors, please actively participate by refraining from visiting your hometown and traveling between regions, and by adhering to social distancing and personal quarantine rules.”
