Chosun University 2021 Early Admission: 18,065 Applicants for 3,687 Spots... 5.1 to 1 Ratio

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University announced on the 28th that the 2021 academic year early admission application deadline resulted in 18,065 applicants for 3,687 recruitment spots, recording a competition rate of 4.9 to 1 (5.1 to 1 within the quota).

By admission type, the competition rates were 4.4 to 1 for the Student Record General Admission, 7.8 to 1 for the Student Record Comprehensive Regional Talent Admission, 6.9 to 1 for the Student Record Comprehensive (General) Admission, 4.1 to 1 for the Practical/Performance Practical Admission, and 5.8 to 1 for the Military Science Department Admission.

For the Medical School and Dental School, which were recruited separately by General Admission and Regional Talent Admission, the competition rates for General Admission were 24.4 to 1 and 47.1 to 1 respectively, while the Regional Talent Admission competition rates were 13.8 to 1 and 16.3 to 1 respectively.

In the Student Record General Admission, the competition rates were high for the Dental School, Nursing Department, Medical School, Fire and Disaster Management Department, Police Administration Department, Chemistry Education Department, Speech Therapy Department, and Counseling Psychology Department.

In the Student Record Comprehensive General Admission, the competition rates were high for the Nursing Department, Police Administration Department, Counseling Psychology Department, Architecture Department (5-year program), Physical Education Department, Civil Engineering Department, Architectural Engineering Department, Computer Engineering Department, and Global Business Communication Department.

Also, the Practical Admission departments such as Taekwondo Department, Cartoon & Animation Department, and Creative Writing Department showed high competition rates.

The deadline for submitting documents is until the 6th of next month.

The second stage evaluation for the Military Science Department Admission will be held from the 26th to the 28th of next month, the interview exams for the Student Record General Admission (Medical School and College of Education) and Practical/Performance Admission will be held on November 7th, and the interview exams for the Student Record Comprehensive General Admission will be held on December 5th and 6th.

Additionally, practical exams will be conducted on November 14th, and since the schedules vary by admission type, examinees must attend according to the respective schedules. The final successful candidates for early admission will be announced on December 27th.

The interview exams for the Student Record General Admission (College of Education) and Practical/Performance Admission (Music Education Department) will be conducted as non-face-to-face interviews, and any changes in admission procedures or operations due to COVID-19 will be announced on the website.
