Seoul Yangcheon-gu and Gwangju U-Square Busy Selling Hangawi Agricultural Specialties
[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 28th, Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it is operating a special sales event for agricultural and specialty products for the Chuseok holiday to secure sales channels for farms struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Unlike last year, the existing direct transaction markets for agricultural and specialty products in sister cities such as Geumcheon-gu and Gangdong-gu in Seoul were mostly converted to non-face-to-face online direct transaction markets.
However, in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, an offline direct transaction market was held simultaneously at the Haenuri Town Fountain Plaza from the 23rd to the 24th along with the online market. Gokseong-gun showcased sweet potatoes, taro, and taro stems.
Additionally, from the 28th to the 30th, a ‘Gokseong-gun Chuseok Agricultural and Specialty Products Special Exhibition’ is being held at the Gwangju U-Square Kumho Express Terminal.
Visitors can find premium agricultural products produced in Gokseong-gun such as taro, taro stems, dried persimmons, sweet potatoes, and bracken.
In particular, Gokseong-gun actively promotes the Jeollanam-do direct online shopping mall Namdo Jangteo at the event venue and offers samples of Gokseong-gun’s eco-friendly rice and shopping bags as giveaways.
A county official said, “We will do our best to secure sales channels for agricultural products from online to offline for farms facing difficulties in sales channels due to COVID-19.”
