Seonamsa Temple Extends Warmth to Vulnerable Groups for Chuseok Holiday

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] At Seonamsa Temple, the Taego Order of Korean Buddhism located in Seungju-eup, Suncheon City (Chief Monk Sikak), warm support was extended to vulnerable groups in the region in celebration of Chuseok, the largest national holiday.

Following last year, Seonamsa Temple donated 50 bags of 10kg rice and 50 boxes of ramen (40 packs each) to Seungju-eup this Chuseok holiday, and Seungju-eup plans to select 100 vulnerable households, including low-income families, to distribute the donated rice and ramen.

Seonamsa Temple takes the lead in helping neighbors in need within the local community through sharing every Lunar New Year and Chuseok holiday, and on this day, the temple stated that it will continue its support activities to promote a culture of donation in the future.

Kim Chan-gu, head of Seungju-eup, said, “During a time when many are going through difficult times due to COVID-19, Seonamsa Temple’s support will be a great comfort to local residents,” and added, “We are grateful to Seonamsa Temple for sending warm hands every holiday season.”
