"Offline services provided 123 cases"
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Korea Energy Agency's Wind Power Promotion Support Group announced on the 28th that it has established and officially started operating the 'Onshore Wind Power Site Map Consulting Online System.'
The consulting service is a follow-up measure to the government's 'Onshore Wind Power Development Activation Plan' announced last year. Since April, the support group has been providing services using interim results from the onshore wind power site map research project. So far, 123 consulting services have been provided to 51 companies and individuals.

Until now, during the site discovery or selection phase of onshore wind power development, information scattered across various channels such as the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Spatial Information Open Platform map, the Korea Forest Service's Forest Spatial Information Service, and various documents had to be collected directly or obtained through specialized development companies.
When applying for the online consulting service, the support group analyzes 59 types of wind conditions, environmental, and forest-related information necessary for the project, including various site regulations and wind utilization rates, and provides the results free of charge to the project operators.
Park Sung-woo, Deputy Head of the Support Group, said, "The site map consulting service is voluntarily provided by the support group to ensure that wind power projects considering preliminary environmental factors can be planned and carried out as soon as possible. As consulting applications continue to increase, we have established the online system to enhance user convenience, and we ask for continued use in the future."
