[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] Korea Expressway Corporation is preparing various measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) during the Chuseok holiday period.
Korea Expressway Corporation Gyeonggi Gwangju Branch announced on the 28th that the Icheon (Hanam) Rest Area has recently established and is implementing an emergency response plan for the Chuseok holiday in response to the resurgence of COVID-19.
First, the Icheon (Hanam) Rest Area operates a 'sticker' system to easily identify customers who have completed temperature checks.
During the holiday period, customers who complete temperature checks and register their information at one restaurant will be given a sticker to conveniently use multiple stores.
Additionally, the Icheon (Hanam) Rest Area places staff wearing vests throughout the area to support proper social distancing among customers.
To this end, the Expressway Corporation is also considering hiring additional personnel.
A representative of the Expressway Corporation said, "We are doing our best to prevent the spread of COVID-19," adding, "Especially during this Chuseok holiday period, we plan to strengthen quarantine efforts by hiring additional part-time guides."
