Special Inspections Targeting Dense Officetel Areas, 4 Consecutive Days of Focused Office Cluster Checks... Nighttime Gathering Ban (10 PM to 5 AM) for 28 Bathhouse Businesses... Holiday Period Efforts to Eliminate Blind Spots in Quarantine Including Screening Clinics and Emergency Civil Service Teams
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) will conduct intensive special crackdowns on promotional centers such as door-to-door sales and multi-level marketing, where unreported COVID-19 cases continue to occur.
In relation to the special COVID-19 response for Chuseok, from September 28 to October 8, special inspections will be carried out targeting high-risk officetels located along Nambusunhwan-ro, an area densely populated with officetels.
The district has organized a special inspection team to conduct focused checks twice a day, morning and afternoon, on violations of gathering bans and compliance with quarantine rules in office-dense floors within buildings. If suspected gatherings related to special sales businesses (door-to-door sales and multi-level marketing) are found after inspections, immediate action will be taken.
Meanwhile, the district has continuously strengthened its own full inspections and patrols of door-to-door sales and multi-level marketing, posting gathering ban posters and promoting a reward system for citizen reports of illegal door-to-door sales in areas with high foot traffic such as buildings along Nambusunhwan-ro, bus stops, and subway stations.
Additionally, joint inspections with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety were conducted on door-to-door sales businesses. Cooperation letters related to door-to-door sales were sent to officetel management offices, landlords of door-to-door sales business sites, and elderly facilities such as senior centers. Through thorough guidance and inspections of quarantine rules, three door-to-door sales locations were reported for violations of gathering bans.
The district will also make every effort to maintain the COVID-19 response system and quarantine management measures during the Chuseok holiday along with the special crackdowns.
First, from September 28 to October 11, a gathering ban order will be enforced during nighttime hours (from 10 PM to 5 AM the next day) on 28 bathhouse businesses operating in the district.
Although bathhouses are not among the 11 high-risk facilities, this is a proactive response to the risk factors associated with bathhouses.
Furthermore, from September 30 to October 4, during the holiday period, the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters will strengthen its operations. Screening clinics will operate from 9 AM to 1 PM to enhance COVID-19 response safety management, including specimen collection and patient transport support.
The situation room will also remain operational, strengthening guidance and monitoring of those in self-quarantine. Emergency civil complaint teams will be organized at the district office and community service centers to conduct visits to self-quarantined individuals and respond to urgent civil complaints, aiming to eliminate blind spots in quarantine during the Chuseok holiday period.
Mayor Park Junhee said, “Although these are difficult times due to COVID-19, I ask that you refrain from visiting your hometown and relatives as much as possible during this Chuseok for the safety of your family and neighbors.” He added, “The district will mobilize all administrative resources to prevent a resurgence of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of all residents during the holiday period.”
