Jeonnam Provincial Assembly Speaker Kim Han-jong Participates in Essential Workers Support Campaign

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Kim Han-jong, Chairman of the Jeonnam Provincial Council, announced on the 28th that he participated in the "Thank You, Essential Workers" campaign, which delivers messages of support for workers who cannot perform face-to-face labor, such as in healthcare and caregiving.

Appointed by Yeom Tae-young, Mayor of Suwon, Chairman Kim Han-jong continued the campaign holding a sign with the phrase "Thank You, Essential Workers."

This campaign is a movement to encourage and support essential workers who must perform face-to-face labor, including healthcare workers, caregivers, sanitation workers, and transportation and delivery workers, amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and the shift toward a contactless society.

Chairman Kim Han-jong said, "I sincerely thank the essential workers who cannot rest even when others do and are doing indispensable work to maintain our society," and urged, "I ask the residents to have faith that we can overcome the current difficulties and actively support the workers who quietly work through tough situations."

To participate in the campaign, one prints an image depicting essential workers, writes "Thank You, Essential Workers" by hand, takes a photo, and uploads it to social media.

Participants must also nominate three people to continue the relay along with the photo, writing, "Please join me in the 'Thank You, Essential Workers' campaign!"

Chairman Kim Han-jong nominated Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeonnam Province, Jang Seok-woong, Superintendent of Education, and Yoo Doo-seok, Mayor of Jangseong County as the next participants.
