Muan-gun Health Center Operates to Improve Quality of Health Care Services for Local Residents

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Seo Young-seo] Muan County, Jeonnam (Governor Kim San) announced on the 28th that it will renovate and operate four health centers located in Illo, Hyeongyeong, Haeje, and Unnam as health promotion-type health centers.

This project was selected in the 2020 Rural Medical Service Improvement Contest, with a national and provincial budget investment of 1 billion KRW. It was established to expand the infrastructure of rural health institutions and operate to guarantee the health rights of local residents and improve the quality of health care services.

At the promotion-type health centers, visiting nurses who were active in the health center's visiting health team will work, enabling the provision of community-based health care services. Additionally, with the reinforcement of medical equipment such as body fat analyzers and securing vehicles, a system capable of rapid response has been established.

A county official stated, “We plan to operate on a small scale while complying with quarantine rules by securing program rooms. Four other health centers without promotion-type facilities were also selected in the 2021 contest project, securing 1 billion KRW. We expect to provide even more improved health care services next year.”
