This is the first time that a new car launch, rather than just selling an existing model, is conducted via TV home shopping broadcast.
Industry insiders expect that the home shopping sales of domestic cars, permitted by the Financial Services Commission's insurance supervision regulation revision in March 2018, will be actively revitalized with CJ O Shopping's new car sales as a catalyst.
The broadcast, scheduled for October 7 at 7:45 PM, will consist of two parts: Part 1 new car launch event and Part 2 sales broadcast, with singer Brian hosting. The biggest feature of the '2021 Tivoli Air' is that it is optimized for 'car camping (chabak)', which has gained popularity in the recent COVID-19 era.
Equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine and the longest length in its class, it boasts a trunk capacity of 720 liters, much larger than that of mid-size SUVs, offering the largest cargo space compared to small SUVs. Folding down the second-row seats provides enough space for an adult with a height of 185 cm to comfortably car camp. Prices are expected to be set at approximately ▲A1 18.9 million to 19.2 million KRW ▲A2 21.7 million to 22.0 million KRW depending on the trim.
CJmall will accept pre-consultation reservations from September 28 to October 5. Customers who make reservations during this period will be entered into a draw to win accommodation vouchers for Lotte Sokcho Resort (10 winners), and will also receive a 100,000 KRW discount upon final delivery. Additionally, customers who make consultation reservations during the broadcast on the 7th will be entered into a draw to win accommodation vouchers for Lotte Signiel (5 winners). All customers who purchase a vehicle through consultation will receive a camping package worth approximately 400,000 KRW, including a couple camping chair, a folding box that doubles as a table, and an LED multi-lantern.
This sales broadcast can also be viewed on the official YouTube channel ‘CJ O Shopping’ and CJmall. After the TV home shopping broadcast, a mobile live broadcast will continue on CJmall for about an hour, where viewers can check more detailed specifications and benefits.
CJ O Shopping's new car sales are expected to be a major turning point in online car sales, coinciding with the activation of non-face-to-face transactions. CJ ENM O Shopping division has established a sales method where consumers who leave consultation reservations can sign contracts with car dealerships near their residence.
