Smoother Video Transitions and Increased Battery Capacity

Trying the Galaxy S20 FE... Even the Night Sea is Captured Clearly

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Galaxy S20 Fan Edition (FE) has enhanced the specifications that smartphone users value most, such as camera and battery performance, while lowering the price. It inherits the design of the Galaxy S20, but the flat 6.5-inch screen and fingerprint-resistant rear design give a fresh first impression. The triple camera with a larger image sensor, large-capacity battery, and clear display come equipped with all the features that satisfy the 20s and 30s generation who enjoy videos and social media.

The rear camera of the Galaxy S20 FE is equipped with a 12MP wide-angle, 12MP ultra-wide-angle, and 8MP telephoto lens. Although the pixel count is lower compared to the previous model with a 64MP telephoto lens, the larger image sensor size allows for clear photos even when shooting at night.

When shooting in night mode at Gwangalli or Haeundae Beach, the night sea and sand are captured clearly. Selecting the 0.5x zoom mode allows for wide-angle shots, capturing the long sandy beach in one frame. It also supports 30x Space Zoom. When taking a picture of the moon at midnight, the surface details were not visible, but clear moon photos were still possible.

Camera features found in flagship models, such as Single Take, which simultaneously captures video and photos and recommends the best shots, and Super Steady mode, which shoots dynamic scenes without shaking, are all available. The front camera is embedded as a small hole (punch hole) on the screen, but its diameter has been reduced to 3.34mm. The size difference is clearly noticeable compared to the Galaxy S10e.

Screen transitions have become much smoother when watching videos. The Galaxy S20 FE’s screen refresh rate is 120Hz, meaning 120 frames appear on the display per second. The higher this number, the smoother the screen transitions. Being a 5G smartphone that supports a 120Hz refresh rate inevitably increases power consumption, but thanks to the 4500mAh battery, the battery lasts all day even with heavy use.

The 'Link to Windows' feature, introduced with the Galaxy Note20, is also supported. Once connected, you can reply to text messages received on your phone from your PC, and transfer photo files to your PC with just a few clicks without sending them via email or KakaoTalk.

The Galaxy S20 FE will accept pre-orders starting October 6 and will officially go on sale in mid-October. The price is expected to be in the high 800,000 KRW range. It is about 350,000 KRW cheaper than the Galaxy S20 with similar specifications, and its camera, display, and chipset performance are not significantly inferior. It is a product worthy of the FE name.
