[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] SK Engineering & Construction has succeeded in winning the contract for the redevelopment project of Jegi 6 District in Seoul. The total contract amount is 101.8 billion KRW.
According to industry sources on the 28th, the Jegi 6 District Redevelopment Association held a general meeting for selecting the construction company the day before and chose SK Engineering & Construction as the contractor. This project involves constructing apartments and ancillary facilities consisting of 7 buildings with a total of 423 households, ranging from 3 basement floors to 18 above-ground floors, located at 120-104 Jegi-dong, Dongdaemun-gu. Construction and sales are scheduled to begin in August 2022, with move-in expected in December 2024.
The site is evaluated to have excellent location conditions. It is a 5-minute walk from Korea University Station on Seoul Subway Line 6, and about 1 km away is Cheongnyangni Station, where five railway lines pass, including the Metropolitan Subway Line 1, Gyeongui-Jungang Line, Suin-Bundang Line, Gangneung Line KTX, and Gyeongchun Line ITX, making the transportation conditions very favorable.
In terms of academic and living infrastructure, Hongpa Elementary School is located directly across the complex, and various schools such as Hongneung Elementary School, Samyuk Elementary School, Junghwa Girls' Middle School, Seoul National University Affiliated Middle and High Schools are nearby. Additionally, prestigious universities such as Korea University, Sungshin Women's University, Kyung Hee University, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, University of Seoul, and KAIST Seoul Campus are situated nearby. The area also has major university hospitals like Korea University Anam Hospital and Kyung Hee University Medical Center, along with abundant living infrastructure including department stores and large supermarkets.
An SK Engineering & Construction official stated, "Jegi 6 District is a region with high future value due to the Metropolitan Area Express Train (GTX) and the development of the Hongneung Bio-Medical Cluster. We plan to develop it into a landmark apartment representing the area through SK Engineering & Construction’s extensive project experience and excellent construction capabilities."
