[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Seoul Women's University announced on the 28th that it held an award ceremony for contributors to gender equality this year. This award is given by Nowon District Office during Gender Equality Week to individuals (or organizations) who have contributed to the spread of gender-equal campuses and sociocultural awareness. The recipients in the individual category were students Yerin Park (Department of Digital Media) and Somin Kim (Department of Horticultural Life and Landscape Architecture). In the group category, 'Shooterfly,' active as the Peace Butterfly Network Seoul Women's University branch, received the award. Jeon Hyejeong, president of Seoul Women's University, said, "I hope that efforts and contributions with responsibility, equipped with female leadership by developing each individual's expertise and abilities, will continue to spread so that we can break the pervasive discrimination against women and the glass ceiling in society."
