[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Emart is offering discount events on various home appliances and cosmetics during the Chuseok holiday period.
Emart has prepared various events anticipating an increase in people spending the holiday at home, as keywords like ‘Gwipojok’ (people who give up returning to their hometown) and ‘Homchujok’ (people spending Chuseok at home) have become popular ahead of the holiday.
Emart will first hold a sale until October 7, offering up to 30% off on various sports and play equipment that families can enjoy together at home.
The ‘Mini Air Hockey,’ which the whole family can enjoy indoors, is sold at a 30% discount for 34,300 KRW, and the ‘Mini Billiards Pocket Ball’ is available at a 30% discount for 41,860 KRW. Tap Ball, which has become a popular exercise equipment among homebodies, is also sold at a low price. It is popular because it allows simple aerobic exercise at home by hitting a ball that bounces from a band tied around the head with the hands.
From October 3 to 28, right after the holiday, a cosmetics sale of up to 50% off will also be held. For housewives tired from the holiday, all items of ‘Sentense The Precious,’ which contains patented wrinkle improvement ingredients, will be discounted up to 50%. Sets such as ‘Sentense The Precious Toner & Emulsion Set’ and ‘Sentense The Precious Cream Special Set’ will be sold, and a full-sized eye cream will be given as a gift with purchase.
Also, creams expected to see increased demand for skin care during the changing seasons will be sold at a uniform price with up to 50% discount. The ‘Sentense Facial Cream 4 types’ will be offered at a uniform price of 19,900 KRW, and the ‘Sentense Body Cream 3 types’ at a uniform price of 14,900 KRW.
Emart will also sell various popular home appliances at affordable prices until October 2. The ‘Dyson Vacuum Cleaner V8 Fluffy,’ a representative popular wireless vacuum cleaner, is sold for 499,000 KRW, with a 30,000 KRW discount when purchased with the event card, and the ‘Electrolux Ergorapido’ is sold for 179,000 KRW.
In addition, ‘Philips Shavers’ and ‘Braun Shavers’ are offered at low prices, and large home appliances such as TVs and refrigerators come with a gift certificate of up to 300,000 KRW when purchased with the event card. An additional discount of up to 200,000 KRW and discount coupons of up to 200,000 KRW through the Emart app are also provided.
Choi Hunhak, Emart’s marketing manager, said, “As more consumers spend the holiday at home, we expect a significant increase in demand for consumption for themselves and their families, so we prepared this discount event.”
