"Why Visit Without Respecting the President?"
People Power Party Plans to Hold a Lawmakers' Meeting Condemning North Korea at the National Assembly Main Building on the 28th
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] As members of the People Power Party launched a 'one-person relay protest' in front of the Blue House, demanding an explanation from President Moon Jae-in regarding the incident in which Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries official Lee (47) went missing near Yeonpyeongdo in the West Sea and was shot and killed by North Korean forces, Democratic Party member Jeong Cheong-rae criticized the protest, calling it "foolish acts by political amateurs."
On the 27th, Jeong posted on his Facebook targeting the People Power Party, saying, "Do you truly recognize President Moon as the legitimate president of the Republic of Korea? Do you genuinely respect President Moon as the true president of Korea?" He added, "If you neither recognize nor respect the president, then what is the point of seeking him out?"
He continued, "And do you ask where President Moon is because you don't know? Stop acting foolishly and formally request a meeting. When President Moon agrees to meet, you make excuses and reject it, then go in front of the Blue House asking where the president is and searching for him," he pointed out.
He further added, "This shows that you are not serious. Stop being ridiculous and stubborn," he concluded.

Meanwhile, on the same day, People Power Party members held a one-person relay protest in front of the Blue House fountain, holding panels that read "President Moon Jae-in, where are you now?" and "Looking for the President of the Republic of Korea." This marks the first time the People Power Party has engaged in an outside protest during the 21st National Assembly.
The first protester, Kim Seong-won, the party’s floor deputy leader, raised his voice, saying, "Protecting the lives of the people is the fundamental duty of the state, so where was the president and what was he doing?" He also criticized the Democratic Party for refusing urgent inquiries, calling it an attempt to conceal and ignore the truth.
The protest lasted about eight hours that day. Starting with Deputy Floor Leader Kim, party members including Kwak Sang-do, Jeon Ju-hye, Bae Hyun-jin, and Joo Ho-young took turns holding the panels, concluding with Floor Leader Joo Ho-young.
Around 3 p.m., Kim Jong-in, the People Power Party’s emergency committee chairman, visited the site and strongly criticized, saying, "Our country's public official was shot and killed, yet the Democratic Party acts as if they are moved by Kim Jong-un’s apology, which I cannot understand."
Meanwhile, on the 28th, the People Power Party plans to hold an "Emergency Members’ Meeting to Condemn North Korea’s Massacre of Our Citizens" on the main stairs of the National Assembly building, urging the adoption of a resolution condemning North Korea and the holding of an urgent inquiry at the National Assembly level.
