[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jeong-ho] Composer and singer Yoon Sang spoke about his connection with the late Shin Hae-chul.

On the afternoon of the 27th, SBS's 'Sunmi's Video Store' aired a segment discussing the late "Ma-wang" (Demon King) Shin Hae-chul.

That day, Yoon Sang said about Shin Hae-chul, "He was a friend with whom I spent the most time in my twenties. Through this opportunity, I feel I should speak about my friend Shin Hae-chul as he truly was."

When Sunmi asked, "How did you two become close?" Yoon Sang explained, "I first met Shin Hae-chul during his solo debut album. In terms of solo debut timing, we were debut peers. Before I debuted as a singer, I was a composer, so he knew me as a composer first, and I also knew Shin Hae-chul."

He added, "We were the same age, so the moment we met, it felt natural to get close, like 'Are you the guy?'" recalling those times.

Later, several musicians expressed their respect for NEXT, the band led by Shin Hae-chul.

First, Yang Dong-geun said, "My favorite songs were 'Knight of the Doll' and then 'Fly, Chick'. I had forgotten, but I think I was deeply shocked by them."

Shin Jae-pyeong of Peppertones shared, "In middle school, I listened to the tape until it wore out, and worried it might break, so I put it in the freezer and took it out to listen again." He added, "I was also an evangelist for NEXT in my class," showing his special affection for NEXT.

Additionally, Bae Soon-tak described NEXT as "the last dinosaur rock band of our era," and said, "They gave a sense of grandeur and a mainstream vibe," drawing attention with his evaluation.

Furthermore, a stage performance of 'Rajenka,' which showcased NEXT's charisma, was also shown. At that time, Shin Hae-chul took the stage with a guru-like presence and attempted a new fusion of the orchestra's grandeur with rock music.

Regarding this, Kim Se-hwang, NEXT's guitarist, said, "At that time, orchestras in Korea were not actively recording popular music," and added, "So we had no choice but to go abroad to record with an orchestra. However, we were a unicorn-like band that achieved tremendous success compared to the investment."
