Yubicare and GC Green Cross Healthcare Sign Digital Healthcare MOU

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Uplus is collaborating with Ubicare and GC Green Cross Healthcare to develop health management and disease prevention and management services based on health and medical data as well as telecommunications customer data.
LG Uplus announced on the 27th that it has signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Ubicare and GC Green Cross Healthcare for joint development of digital healthcare services and business cooperation.
Through this agreement, it is expected that new value can be provided to customers with high health sensitivity such as chronic disease patients, elderly and vulnerable groups, and parents raising children, including health management linked to telecommunications plans and subscription services for disease prevention and management.
Ubicare developed the first electronic medical record (EMR) solution for clinics in Korea. It also provides customized medical devices for hospitals and clinics, pharmaceutical data, and market analysis services.
GC Green Cross Healthcare acquired Ubicare in the first half of this year and is accelerating the promotion of data-based digital healthcare convergence new businesses by acquiring a big data analysis specialized consulting firm.
Through this partnership, LG Uplus can cooperate with the 'Ddokdak' service linked to Ubicare EMR based on its service platform network environment construction and operation know-how, as well as its telecommunications subscribers.
LG Uplus plans to lead the expansion of services linked to digital healthcare platforms, while Ubicare and GC Green Cross Healthcare will provide health and medical data analysis, services, and platform operation capabilities, jointly developing optimal customized health management services among the three companies.
Jong-wook Park, Executive Vice President and CSO of LG Uplus, said, "The quality in each field of healthcare is improving, and the creation of technical and legal environments enabling convergence between previously disconnected industries is becoming visible, so the digital healthcare industry growth will accelerate." He added, "We will create a digital healthcare ecosystem in cooperation with Ubicare and GC Green Cross Healthcare."
