[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 27th that information on public parking lots nationwide, which will be open for free during the Chuseok holiday from the 30th of this month to the 4th of next month, will be provided through 'Gongyunu-ri' and the 'Public Data Portal.'

When accessing Gongyunu-ri, a window titled 'Chuseok Holiday Free Open Parking Lot Guide' appears, and clicking 'Go to Map' brings up the map search screen. Users can search for their desired area (city, county, district) and check the list of free open public parking lots in that area along with their locations on the map.

By selecting a desired parking lot, users can view brief information about it, and by clicking the navigation icon, they can move to KakaoMap to check the route. Users accessing the sharing portal via mobile can also receive navigation services through Kakao Navigation by clicking the guidance icon in KakaoMap.

The Public Data Portal provides free open public parking lot information as file data, allowing developers and private companies to freely use it for app service development and other purposes.

Meanwhile, the total number of public parking lots open for free nationwide during this Chuseok holiday is 14,746. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety explained that this is 2,826 fewer than the 17,572 lots opened during the last Lunar New Year holiday due to the impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
