This move comes in response to President Donald Trump's indication that he might not accept the election results. It also follows the passage of a related resolution in the U.S. Senate on the 24th.

On the 25th (local time), U.S. media reported that the resolution is expected to receive bipartisan support.

The two-page resolution to be voted on by the House reaffirms that "the transfer of power shall be conducted in an orderly and peaceful manner according to the procedures stipulated in the U.S. Constitution," and states that "neither the President nor anyone else should interfere with the decision of the American people."
