"Use the Safe 'PassQR Access Pass' Campaign by the Three Telecom Companies"

"Use the Safe 'PassQR Access Pass' Campaign by the Three Telecom Companies"

[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Cho] The three major telecom companies announced on the 27th that their identity verification application, PASS, will conduct a campaign encouraging the use of QR entry passes at multi-use facilities with high foot traffic in preparation for the Chuseok holiday.

The three telecom companies are posting notices encouraging the use of the electronic entry log "PASS QR Entry Pass" at multi-use facilities such as large restaurants, SNS-famous eateries, and multipurpose sports facilities, based on government public data on places where many people gather, and are urging their customers to actively cooperate.

Additionally, considering the upcoming resumption of spectator attendance at professional baseball games, they plan to promote the use of electronic entry logs including the "PASS QR Entry Pass" at Suwon KT Wiz Park, Incheon SK Happy Dream Stadium, and Seoul LG Jamsil Baseball Stadium. At the time of transitioning to games with spectators, masks will be provided at each stadium to prioritize the safety of attendees.

The "PASS QR Entry Pass" is an electronic entry log provided through the identity verification app PASS, developed to improve upon the manual entry logs previously used when entering facilities with a high risk of group infections.

Since June, the three telecom companies have been offering the "PASS QR Entry Pass" service to their customers and users of budget phones, where users present a one-time QR code issued on their smartphones to facility managers, who scan it to create a visit record.

The QR code issued by the "PASS QR Entry Pass" is valid for only 15 seconds per use, and each time it is generated, the system verifies whether the device is registered under the user's name, preventing illegal acquisition and misuse by others. Furthermore, the telecom companies explained that the final QR code contains no personal information, thoroughly protecting customers' privacy.

The three telecom companies will continue to lead COVID-19 prevention efforts through the convenient and secure "PASS QR Entry Pass" and will also cooperate continuously to protect customers' health and safety through various ICT services based on 5G and AI technologies.
