According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor on the 25th, the amendment to the "Special Act on Regulatory Relief for Corporate Activities" containing this provision was passed at the National Assembly plenary session the day before. The amended law will be enforced one year after its promulgation.
The amended law requires workplaces with more than 300 employees to directly hire individuals with professional qualifications in safety and health to manage workers without exception.
The current law allows workplaces with more than 300 employees to outsource safety and health management to external organizations, but this approach has been criticized for its limitations.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor stated, "We plan to support the establishment of autonomous safety and health management systems at workplaces by strengthening job training for safety and health managers."
