To His Excellency Moon Jae-in, President of the Republic of Korea

I have received the letter you sent.

Reading the president's letter, which touched me deeply after a long time, I felt profound compatriot affection in every line filled with sincere consolation.

I gratefully accept the warm heart you have sent.

I also take this opportunity to convey my genuine feelings without pretense to you, Mr. President, and to the compatriots in the South.

Recently, hearing the news of the continuous spread of the malicious virus in your region and the successive typhoon damages, I have thought about the heavy burden and the solitary hardship you must be enduring as you face these difficult challenges that no one else can bear on your behalf.

I can well understand how hard it must be for you, what pressure you are under, and how tirelessly you are striving to overcome this ordeal.

However, I firmly believe in my heart that with your exceptional devotion to the country and your people, as well as your strong will and capability, you will surely overcome this crisis.

I send my sincere feelings to the South, which is experiencing difficulties and pain, and to share them together, always wishing to be with you.

I eagerly await the day when these dreadful times of this year will pass quickly and good things will come one after another.

I am always concerned that, burdened by heavy responsibilities, you might completely forget to take care of your health.

Please always pay special attention to your health.

And once again, I sincerely hope that the precious health and happiness of the southern compatriots will be protected.

With all my heart, I wish for the well-being of everyone.

I pray that President Moon Jae-in and Madam will always be healthy and safe.
