Scheduled for 3 PM on the 28th: Video Debate on Eliminating Discrimination by Granting Time-Choice Rights to Time-Choice Public Officials... Hosted by National Assembly Members Kim Min-seok, Park Soo-young, Lee Eun-joo, and Lim Ho-seon of the Public Administration and Security Committee
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The National Integrated Public Officials Labor Union Time-Selective Division (hereinafter Integrated Union Time-Selective Division, Head Jeong Seong-hye) will hold a video discussion using the video conferencing application ZOOM at 3 p.m. on the 28th to improve the time-selective recruitment public official system.
The offices of National Assembly members Kim Min-seok, Park Soo-young, Lee Eun-joo, and Lim Ho-seon, belonging to the Administrative Safety Committee, will host the event, addressing issues faced by time-selective recruitment public officials, including the granting of time-selective rights.
The Integrated Union Time-Selective Division was launched in August 2017 to improve the poor treatment and discrimination of time-selective recruitment public officials. Since then, through annual National Assembly discussions and various parliamentary projects, achievements such as the application of public official pensions and the expansion of maximum weekly working hours to 35 hours have been made.
The video discussion hosted by the offices of Kim Min-seok, Park Soo-young, Lee Eun-joo, and Lim Ho-seon and organized by the Integrated Union Time-Selective Division was originally scheduled to be held at the National Assembly Library auditorium but was changed to a video discussion using the ZOOM application due to COVID-19.
A press conference expressing demands will also be held at 9:30 a.m. in front of the National Assembly main gate on the same day.
This is the fourth National Assembly discussion hosted by the Integrated Union Time-Selective Division and the first attempt to hold it non-face-to-face. The video discussion will cover issues related to the time-selective recruitment public official system, including ▲ full guarantee of time-selective rights ▲ revision of laws to eliminate discrimination between conversion-type time-selective public officials and time-selective rights ▲ abolition of fractional quotas and restoration of total quota calculation ▲ improvement of the issue of a one-hour uniform deduction for overtime work ▲ integrated preparation of promotion lists ▲ equal payment of allowances unrelated to working hours such as holiday leave pay.
Through this discussion, they expect effects such as ▲ improvement of working conditions for time-selective recruitment public officials ▲ increased sense of belonging and morale ▲ normalization of personnel management within the organization and elimination of conflict factors ▲ enhancement of fairness between time-selective recruitment public officials and full-time public officials.
