Seodaemun-gu Prepares Comprehensive Chuseok Measures Including COVID-19 Prevention

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) will implement the '2020 Chuseok Comprehensive Measures' from the 25th of this month to the 5th of next month to ensure residents can spend a safe and comfortable holiday.

This plan covers eight areas including a warm Chuseok celebration, price stabilization, traffic, safety, fire prevention, resolution of resident inconveniences, medical services, and establishment of public service discipline.

During the implementation period of the comprehensive measures, the district office will operate a comprehensive situation room on the first floor to prepare for emergencies. In particular, an emergency work system will be maintained to prevent COVID-19, ensuring thorough quarantine measures.

The COVID-19 Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters situation room, call center, and disinfection task force will operate as usual, and the screening clinic installed in the parking lot on the first floor of the health center will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Additionally, to stabilize prices of essential goods, a price countermeasure situation room will be operated, and inspections will be conducted on traditional markets and marts to check for violations of origin labeling and price display systems for agricultural products for ancestral rites and gifts, local specialties, and imported seafood.

Furthermore, a traffic countermeasure team will be operated to crack down on illegal parking, a road task force will be deployed to prevent safety accidents at major construction sites and facilities, and a sewage task force will be prepared for sewage facility damage, ensuring thorough resolution of resident inconveniences.

Moon Seok-jin, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, said, “Although it is regrettable that we have to recommend refraining from travel during the holiday, we ask everyone to strictly observe social distancing during the Chuseok holiday to end COVID-19 and quickly return to daily life.”
