[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] The prosecution investigating allegations related to Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol's family conducted investigations of complainants and accusers on the 25th.
The Criminal Division 6 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Park Soon-bae) summoned businessman Jeong Dae-taek and lawyer Jo Dae-jin, who filed complaints against Yoon's mother-in-law Choi and wife Kim Kun-hee, to investigate the background of the accusations in the afternoon.
Jeong claimed that he lost a legal battle against Choi in the past due to a conspiracy by Choi's side, resulting in financial damages, and filed a complaint against Choi and others on charges including fraud. After a previous case where Choi was accused of instigating false testimony was dismissed without indictment, Jeong accused that Prosecutor General Yoon intervened in the process and filed a complaint against him for abuse of authority.
Lawyer Jo and Choi Kang-wook, leader of the Open Democratic Party, filed a complaint in April alleging that Kim was involved in stock manipulation of Deutsche Motors. They also accused Choi of being involved in corruption at a medical corporation in Paju and filed charges of fraud under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes.
