During the holiday period, 50 emergency medical institutions and emergency medical facilities will operate emergency rooms 24 hours a day as usual for emergency patient treatment.
To reduce treatment gaps, 393 hospitals and clinics, 337 public health institutions, and 433 pharmacies will open on designated duty days.
In preparation for emergency patients in vulnerable areas such as islands, doctor helicopters will be on standby with medical staff for rapid on-site dispatch, treatment, and transport.
In preparation for accidents involving multiple casualties, the disaster medical support teams (DMAT) and disaster medical support vehicles of disaster base hospitals (Mokpo Hanguk Hospital and Seonggarolo Hospital) will operate as usual, and public health center rapid response teams will maintain an emergency contact system.
In particular, to respond to COVID-19 patient occurrences, screening clinics will continue to operate, and the provincial and city/county infectious disease response teams will enter a quarantine emergency duty system during the holiday period.
Also, to check the operation status of hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies open during the holiday period and to guide medical institutions capable of treatment such as screening clinics, the province and 22 city/county public health centers will operate emergency treatment situation rooms.
