[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Seul-gi] Jang Sung-min, Chairman of the World and Northeast Asia Peace Forum, criticized President Moon Jae-in on the 25th regarding the government official killed at sea near Yeonpyeong Island in the West Sea, saying, "President Moon remained silent for 33 hours from the time of the face-to-face report to his statement of attitude, which is an incredibly long time far surpassing the '7 hours of the Sewol ferry incident.'"

On that day, Chairman Jang wrote on his Facebook, "Is this the reality of the inter-Korean reconciliation and cooperation that the president emphasized so much?"

He continued, "Which country’s president is President Moon, who is he president for, and what is he president for? After receiving the first report that a citizen was shot by an enemy country, what did he do? Even after knowing that our citizen was shot and his body burned by North Korea, why did he proceed with the 'end of war declaration' speech at the UN early on the 23rd as if nothing had happened?" he criticized.

He added, "Is this the 'spring of peace' that President Moon emphasized so much? It is a fiction. North Korea’s killing of human lives is a crime against humanity and a direct violation of the Geneva Conventions as it involved shooting unarmed civilians."

He said, "Deliberately shooting civilians and then pouring oil to burn the bodies revealed the barbarity of the North Korean regime that disregards human life," and raised his voice, "During the Sewol ferry incident, President Moon asked former President Park Geun-hye what she did during the 7 hours. Now, I ask President Moon, what did you do during the 33 hours?"

Chairman Jang stated, "We can no longer entrust the country and its people to a regime that cannot protect the lives, property rights, and freedoms of its citizens," and insisted, "Failed North Korea policies must be abolished. The president must directly apologize to the people for the security crisis and disclose countermeasures."
