[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Kim Tae-ho, an independent lawmaker (Sancheong, Hamyang, Geochang, Hapcheon), was cleared of charges of violating the Public Official Election Act with 20 days remaining before the statute of limitations expired.

On April 23, Kim was reported to the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office Geochang Branch for false statement publication and violation of the regulation restricting independent candidates from representing political parties.

On the 24th, Kim announced via SNS that he had received notification from the prosecution of "no charges" regarding the violation of the Public Official Election Act.

Kim said, "I apologize for causing concern to many people. And I also express my gratitude. I will carry a humble heart and love in my chest and work with greater public spirit."

Earlier, Kim was accused of violating the regulation restricting party representation by stating in a TV debate hosted by the local election commission inviting National Assembly candidates, "Kim Tae-ho is the United Future Party, and the United Future Party is Kim Tae-ho."

With the prosecution's decision of "no charges" on this Public Official Election Act violation, Kim has been freed from the shackles. This also strengthens Kim's return to the People Power Party.
