Wando English Teacher Leaks All Test Answers to Specific Student

Wando English Teacher Leaks All Test Answers to Specific Student Wando A High School, embroiled in controversy over the leak of final exam questions and answer sheets

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] The education authorities were thrown into turmoil after it was discovered that a homeroom teacher at a high school in Wando, Jeollanam-do, leaked final exam questions to a specific student.

According to the Jeollanam-do Office of Education on the 24th, A (47), an English teacher at a high school in Wando, secretly handed over the final exam English test questions and answer sheets written separately on paper to B (19), a student she was teaching, at the end of July.

The paper contained detailed questions and answers for English reading comprehension and writing tests. It even included records of the exact textbook pages where the questions appeared, and B received the highest grade in English.

The suspicion of exam paper leakage was revealed when a student found the question paper in B’s study materials and reported it. Following this, the Jeollanam-do Office of Education and the police launched an investigation.

A student at the school said, “Teacher A has long been known to enroll students who are good at studying or particularly favored into the English club for private tutoring,” adding, “Since the 14th, she suddenly stopped coming to school, and various rumors spread among the students.”

Parents of students at the school expressed their outrage, saying, “We were deeply shocked by this unbelievable fact,” and “Our trust has been broken to the extent that we suspect there may be other cases of exam paper leakage. We plan to strongly protest to the school.”

After the exam paper leakage was revealed, the Office of Education, in consultation with the school, held an academic performance management committee meeting and assigned B a score of zero, adjusting the internal grades of all students. B’s grade was lowered from an overall 2.2 to 2.4 due to the zero score.

A school official stated, “This is absurd and truly deplorable,” and added, “We will decide on disciplinary action against Teacher A based on the results of the Office of Education’s audit.”
