"People Power Party Has No Direct Connection with Taegeukgi Units"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Kim Jong-in, the emergency committee chairman of the People Power Party, stated on the 24th that "once the legal situation is resolved, we plan to officially apologize in the party's name" regarding the impeachment of former President Park Geun-hye.
At a discussion hosted by the Broadcast Journalists Club that day, Chairman Kim said, "Before I became the emergency committee chairman, I suggested that for the People Power Party to gain public trust and show a changed image, the party should officially apologize for the two former presidents."
Chairman Kim added, "Personally, I intended to apologize to the former presidents immediately upon taking office as emergency committee chairman, but those around me said it might be too hasty given that the legal issues are not yet resolved, so I have postponed it until now."
Regarding the relationship with the Taegeukgi Unit, Chairman Kim said, "Honestly, I think there is no direct connection between the Taegeukgi Unit and the People Power Party."
On the drive-thru rallies, Chairman Kim stated, "Since we requested restraint on gatherings due to quarantine measures, I believe reasonable people accepted this to some extent. However, if someone insists on holding a rally regardless, there is no way to stop them."
