Interpark, Blue Square Furniture Popup Store Renewed and Reopened

Home Decor Boom Due to COVID-19... Interpark Furniture Sales Up 39% Over 6 Months

Interpark, Blue Square Furniture Popup Store Renewed and Reopened Interpark Furniture Pop-up Store

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Interpark announced on the 24th that it has renewed and reopened its furniture pop-up store set up at Blue Square in Hannam-dong. This pop-up store, planned to allow customers to enjoy furniture shopping, cultural activities, and relaxation all at once by placing many brand furniture pieces throughout the complex cultural space Blue Square Book Park, will be extended and operated until December.

Through this renewal, Interpark has newly introduced various furniture brands. Participating brands include Jacomo, Jangsu Dol Sofa, Dondi Home, Leben, Frame Furniture, Mikasa, Comp Pro, Linback, and Viance. It is also notable that, in line with the non-face-to-face consumption trend, a method allowing customers to experience and purchase products without interacting with staff has been adopted. By scanning the QR code attached to all exhibited products, customers are connected to the Interpark page where they can check detailed information and make purchases.

Im Jae-hyung, head of Interpark’s furniture department, said, "As the COVID-19 pandemic prolonged, the time spent at home increased, raising interest in furniture and interior design. In fact, from March to August, a six-month period, sales in Interpark’s furniture category increased by 39% compared to last year." He added, "This renewal expanded the exhibited products from mainly large brands to designer furniture and focused on strengthening non-face-to-face services."
