[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] On the 24th, Doshi Sharing Platform, which is creating a Korean-style sharing economy by utilizing idle spaces, agreed to share patents for artificial intelligence (AI) unmanned sales systems held by both companies with Hanasys.

Doshi Sharing Platform is installing and operating its 3rd generation technology ‘3.0Ver’ AI unmanned vending machines (AISS Go) equipped on Hanasys’s intelligent system showcase at small business stores nationwide. The ‘3.0Ver’ was selected as a smart store model shop operated by the Small Enterprise and Market Service and is being demonstrated regularly at the exhibition hall in Mapo, Seoul.

Since introducing the ‘Manned 1.0Ver’ payment system in 2018, Doshi Sharing Platform has continuously enhanced its technology by supplementing and releasing the ‘Manned/Unmanned 2.0Ver’ using location-based sensors.

Hanasys, established in 2005, is currently the leading company in the domestic kiosk and POS manufacturing sector. Its unmanned-related businesses include the pilot project for the Korea Expressway Corporation’s Hi-Pass vending machines and the establishment of unmanned store ice cream sales systems.

In addition to existing touch-type kiosks, Hanasys has secured technologies necessary for unmanned store configurations such as AI voice recognition-based digital companion unmanned systems and unmanned sales systems combined with various payment devices, focusing its capabilities on research and development (R&D).

Park Jin-seok, CEO of Doshi Sharing Platform, stated, “We agreed to share four registered patents related to unmanned sales systems held by both companies, 12 patents currently under application, and all patents to be applied for in the future,” adding, “Beyond this patent sharing, we will collaborate additionally with companies interested in unmanned sales systems to create a Korean-style unmanned commerce model.”

Lee Jung-yong, CEO of Hanasys, also said, “This agreement has created an opportunity to lead the domestic unmanned store market and laid the groundwork to compete with global unmanned distribution companies,” and added, “We will continue to develop Korean-style unmanned sales system technology through technological collaboration.”
