"How Will Seoul Change in the Untact Era?"... Seoul Institute Support Project Contest

[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] The Seoul Institute announced on the 24th that it will hold a public contest for the second half of this year’s “Small Research, Good Seoul” support project from the 25th to the 15th of next month.

“Small Research, Good Seoul” is a representative support project of the Seoul Institute that discovers and supports citizen researchers who want to study issues closely related to citizens’ lives, thereby deriving policies based on reality. Since 2012, a total of 229 research projects have been supported.

Any individual or organization interested in Seoul city administration can participate in the contest, and applications are accepted on the Seoul Institute website.

The Seoul Institute plans to select up to 10 projects this time, supporting up to 8 million KRW for planned research projects and up to 5 million KRW for free research projects.

The planned theme for the second half of the year is “Untact City, Changes in Seoul,” proposed directly by citizens through the Seoul Institute’s Facebook page. Due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), society has rapidly shifted to a contactless environment, and the intention is to observe the changes in the metropolitan city of Seoul and research the necessary aspects for a better life for citizens.

Seowangjin, Director of the Seoul Institute, said, “At a time when society is undergoing significant changes due to COVID-19, exploring the changes in Seoul caused by the normalization of contactless daily life, which is the planned theme of this project, will be a meaningful experience for participants.”
