Strengthening COVID-19 Prevention at Oedong (Busan) Rest Area... Introduction of 'Simple Phone Check-in' System

Pulmuone Foods Co., Ltd., which operates the Oedong (Busan direction) Rest Area (Manager Hwang Seon-ho), announced on the 24th that it has introduced a simple phone check-in system as part of strengthened COVID-19 prevention measures.

Amid concerns about the resurgence of COVID-19 ahead of the Chuseok holiday, the rest area has been enhancing quarantine measures such as creating visitor logs. However, many visitors have shown negative reactions to filling out the logs due to ongoing worries about personal information leakage, making it difficult to strengthen quarantine efforts.

In response, the rest area introduced the simple phone check-in system to allow visitors to use the facility freely without concerns about personal information leakage.

According to the rest area, the system works by having visitors call a virtual phone number of the rest area, and the call records are stored on a server to automatically manage entry status. This fundamentally blocks the possibility of personal information being leaked to third parties.

Manager Hwang Seon-ho said, “At a time when there are concerns about a resurgence of COVID-19 due to large-scale movement during the Chuseok holiday, we are making every effort to strengthen quarantine measures and will create and provide various ways to consider the convenience of rest area visitors.”
