Usable in Windows, Mac, and Linux Environments
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Naver Certificate is expanding its reach to PCs, supported by Whale browser technology.
On the 24th, Naver announced that the Naver Certificate, previously only supported on mobile, will be pre-installed on the Whale browser, allowing its use in PC-based services through an update.
In addition to mobile OS such as Android and iOS, Naver Certificate will be available in Windows, Mac, and Linux environments supported by the Whale browser. Starting with the Civil Defense Cyber Education Center, various authentication-based services supporting Naver Certificate are expected to be accessible on PCs as well.
From a security perspective, since Naver leverages its vast security data and expertise accumulated domestically, users can enjoy a safer service experience, which is a distinguishing factor.
The 'installation-free simple authentication' method supported by Whale integrates essential functions required for using services based on authentication in finance, public sectors, and more directly into the browser. This eliminates the need to install separate programs, making it convenient. Naver leader Oh Kyung-soo said, "Since it can now be used not only on mobile but also on PC, Naver Certificate can provide a simpler and safer authentication experience even when using PC-centered services."
