Professor Kim Chung-seok Appointed as the 8th President of Silla University

Professor Kim Chung-seok appointed as the 8th president of Silla University.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Professor Kim Chung-seok of the Department of Computer Software Engineering has been appointed as the 8th president of Silla University.

The Park Young Hak Foundation, which operates the school, appointed Professor Kim Chung-seok as the new president at the board meeting held on the 22nd. His term is two years, from November 25, this year, to November 24, 2022.

President-elect Kim Chung-seok graduated from the Department of Electronic Computing at Hongik University and earned his Master of Science and Doctor of Science degrees from the same university.

He joined Silla University as a professor in 1990 and has served as Planning Director, Director of the Electronic Computing Center, Deputy Dean of Academic Affairs, and Deputy Director of the Comprehensive Information Center.

President-elect Kim said, "I feel a heavy sense of responsibility in taking on the presidency at a time when universities are facing difficulties due to the declining school-age population and COVID-19."

He added, "I will devote all my efforts to enabling Silla University to make a new leap forward through bold educational innovation that leads the changing era while nurturing creative professionals required by the Fourth Industrial Revolution."
