[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) announced on the 24th that it received the Grand Prize (Presidential Award) at the '20th Korea Digital Management Innovation Awards' held at the Sejong Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul.
Now in its 20th year, the 'Korea Digital Management Innovation Awards' is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the Korea Big Data Society.
The awards recognize companies and institutions that demonstrate outstanding innovation and achievements through digital transformation.
Final selections are made through a two-stage process: first, document screening by experts and professor judges, followed by a presentation review.
KEPCO was recognized for its digital transformation achievements including establishing a digital transformation strategy, building a big data system, developing an AI software (SW) development platform for power (HUB-PoP), opening a power data sharing center, constructing an energy marketplace (EN:TER), and launching the PowerCheck mobile service.
A KEPCO official stated, "This award proves our technological capabilities and innovation in digital transformation," adding, "Based on this, we plan to accelerate the promotion of energy platform and digital solution businesses."
He further added, "We will also continue to contribute to the creation and activation of the energy and power data ecosystem."
