[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] SK Gas Co., Ltd. will provide free COVID-19 insurance for the first time in the industry to protect customers and gas station employees from the threat of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and to support small business owners and self-employed individuals facing difficulties.
Starting from the 25th, SK Gas announced that it will offer COVID-19 insurance products free of charge through DB Insurance and SIMG for LPG 1-ton truck drivers, gas station customers, and gas station employees.
The "COVID-19 Insurance for 1-ton Truck Drivers" is part of SK Gas's LPG 1-ton truck driver support program "Bongo Appa, Cheer Up," designed to assist small business owners and self-employed individuals struggling due to COVID-19. Participants who complete the application for the "Fuel Cost Support Program" are automatically enrolled. If a participant is diagnosed with COVID-19 within 14 days after using an SK Gas station, the insurance pays up to 100,000 KRW per day, for a maximum of 10 days, covering business loss costs regardless of the infection route.
Additionally, to ensure that customers and gas station employees using SK Gas LPG stations can use the facilities with peace of mind, free insurance is also provided for them. Through the "Eco Guard Gas Station Insurance," passenger car customers who have joined the SK Gas LPG membership program "Happiness Charging" and gas station employees will receive insurance payments of up to 100,000 KRW per day, for up to 10 days, if infected with COVID-19 within SK Gas LPG stations.
