Mando Donates 'Love's Odtoki Wheelchair' in 2020

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Mando, an automotive parts specialist company under Halla Group, and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority announced on the 24th that they donated ‘Love’s Odtogi Wheelchairs’ to 42 severely disabled victims of traffic accidents nationwide.

The ‘Love’s Odtogi Wheelchair Donation’ began in 2012 to honor the ‘Odtogi Spirit’ of the late Jeong In-Young, the founding chairman of Halla Group. In 1989, Chairman Jeong In-Young suffered a stroke but overcame his illness and was known for managing business affairs worldwide. Chairman Jeong In-Young used a wheelchair for 16 years.

The donation event was held at ‘Mujigae Gajok,’ a welfare facility for severely disabled people in Wanju-gun, Jeollabuk-do. The custom-made electric and manual wheelchairs will be delivered to families of traffic accident victims nationwide. This year, a biography of Chairman Jeong In-Young is specially included. The biography was written to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Chairman Jeong In-Young’s birth (1920?2020).

At the event, Kim Guhyun, Executive Director of Mando, said, “Inheriting the spirit of the founding chairman, especially this year, we will overcome difficult circumstances and strengthen our social contribution activities.”

Until this year, Mando has donated ‘Love’s Odtogi Wheelchairs’ to 461 people. The donation events are held alternately near Mando’s business sites in Iksan, Wonju, Pyeongtaek, and Pangyo.
