Samsung Electronics has unveiled the new product 'Galaxy S20 FE,' which lowers the price while maintaining the core features of its flagship, drawing strong attention from foreign media. It is analyzed that the impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) was significant in launching the FE, which was not planned at the time of the Galaxy S20 series release earlier this year. The market expects Samsung Electronics to take market share from Chinese brands like OnePlus in the 'premium mid-range' category.

IT specialized media SamMobile introduced Samsung Electronics' Galaxy S20 FE release on the 23rd (local time), reporting, "It is highly likely to disrupt the market position of Chinese manufacturer OnePlus, which is focusing on a similar line in the U.S." SamMobile evaluated, "The Galaxy S20 FE has flagship-level features, and Samsung Electronics repeatedly emphasized 'flagship' in materials and events," adding, "It offers specifications similar to a flagship at an affordable price."

Another specialized media, The Verge, also focused on the specifications of the Galaxy S20 FE. The rear camera of the Galaxy S20 FE is equipped with the largest Dual Pixel image sensor among all Galaxy phones. It also supports 'Space Zoom,' a highlight of the Galaxy S20. The Verge stated, "The FE version was not planned when the Galaxy S20 lineup was unveiled earlier this year," and added, "Even though it is based on the S20, it shows how quickly Samsung Electronics can release new products.
