[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Chae Hyun-il) held a 'Open Talk' on the 23rd with local district members of the National Assembly to share opinions on regional issues and seek development through communication.
The talk show, which started at 10 a.m. at the Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Broadcasting Station 'Studio Tium,' featured local National Assembly members Kim Young-joo and Kim Min-seok, along with Yeongdeungpo-gu Mayor Chae Hyun-il as guests. Broadcaster Lim Hyuk-pil, who is active as a Yeongdeungpo-gu ambassador, hosted the event.
At the beginning of the talk show, National Assembly members Kim Young-joo and Kim Min-seok, along with Mayor Chae Hyun-il, delivered messages of support to the residents in celebration of Yeongdeungpo Residents' Day on the 28th.
During the main discussion, participants engaged in passionate debates about the desired image of Yeongdeungpo, necessary changes in education, transportation, residential environment, medical and safety environments, as well as efforts to overcome changes caused by COVID-19.
The attendees shared in-depth opinions on various proposed topics and expressed their commitment to communicating with residents and making Yeongdeungpo a more developed district.
National Assembly member Kim Young-joo said, “It was most regrettable not to be able to meet residents due to COVID-19, so I am glad to see them through this event,” and added, “I will do my best to create the Yeongdeungpo era, the center of Seoul as one of Seoul’s three major downtown areas.”
National Assembly member Kim Min-seok stated, “I hope Yeongdeungpo will have the image of an innovative inclusive nation’s leading district and a representative model,” and said, “I will make Yeongdeungpo-gu a lifelong education hub and a leading lifelong learning city.”
The talk show was broadcast live via real-time streaming on the district’s main YouTube channel ‘Yeonggu-ne’ and the official Facebook page.
Yeongdeungpo-gu Mayor Chae Hyun-il said, “It was a very meaningful time to hear the love and passion for Yeongdeungpo from the two National Assembly members and their clear insights on regional issues,” and added, “Based on close administration that resonates with residents, we will create an open Yeongdeungpo through communication and cooperation.”
