[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] On the 23rd, Lee Gangseop, the head of the Ministry of Government Legislation, visited Sejong Traditional Market in Jochiwon-eup, Yeongi-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, ahead of the Chuseok holiday to encourage merchants and deliver hand sanitizers.
On that day, Lee purchased ritual items such as rice cakes and fruits. He listened to the voices of merchants saying that sales have been continuously declining due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lee said, "Overcoming COVID-19 quickly through practicing social distancing and revitalizing the depressed local commercial district is an important task," adding, "The Ministry of Government Legislation will do its best to support the activation of traditional markets severely affected by COVID-19 through proactive administration."
